B1 Tourist Visa for Bali, Indonesia (Visa on Arrival)

This information pertains to the most popular visa type for tourists: the B1 Visa (Visa on Arrival or VoA).

Eligible Countries

Passport holders from the following countries can apply for the B1 Tourist Visa:

Understanding the Visa Types

The Visit Visa, commonly known as Visa on Arrival (VoA), can actually be purchased online before your arrival in Bali (e-VoA). While you can still get the visa upon arrival at the airport, it’s advisable to apply online to save time. Note that there are different codes for various travel purposes, such as B1, B2, B3, and B4.

How to Apply for the Indonesia Tourist Visa / Visa on Arrival

1. Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA)
  • Apply for the e-VoA (B1, B2, B3, B4) online to skip the queues at the airport. This is more convenient and time-saving.
  • Tip: Check your email spam folder for the e-VoA confirmation.
  • Important: Use the official immigration website to avoid scams.
2. At the Airport / Harbour Upon Arrival
  • If you haven’t purchased the e-VoA before your arrival, you can still get the VoA at the counters in the arrival halls of international airports or harbours. Expect long queues during busy times.
  • Bali Airport now features e-Gates for travellers with an e-Visa, making the immigration process quicker and more efficient. We recommend using this service.

Visa Details

  • Cost: IDR 500,000 (approximately AUD 50)
  • Processing Time: ± 1-2 working days after payment.
  • Additional fees may apply for credit/debit card payments.
  • The e-VoA allows for a 30-day stay, which can be extended once for an additional 30 days.
  • Once issued, the e-VoA is valid for 90 days, so you can book your trip in advance.

Required Documents

  • Passport Photo: A colour photo with a red or white background.
  • Flight Information: Including a return ticket that aligns with your visa’s validity.
  • Address in Indonesia: You’ll need to provide your accommodation details.
  • Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date into Indonesia.
